Day 10-11: Los Angeles - Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica & Venice Beach

Writer: Hans PedersenHans Pedersen

Monday morning we said goodbye and had a walk in the center of Salt Lake City, where we saw the big Mormon temple, before flying to Los Angeles, where we are staying for 3 night's.

Tuesday we did some “classic LA things”: Walk of Fame in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Santa Monica and Venice Beach. We rented bikes and biked from Santa Monica Pier to Venice Beach and back. LA is a mixed bag: on one hand an amazing place with relaxed Southern California beach lifestyle and snow capped mountains just 2 hours away. And on the other hand too many homeless people in certain areas (fuelling the ‘Make America Great Again’ slogan).

We meet an Austrian guy who lived/worked in US for many years, and he recommended Orange County and Laguna beach south of LA where he lives with his family. It’s definitely and city of color, contrasts and self-expression. And the SoCal weather is pretty nice :-)
