Day 4: Exploring the Indian Moqui & Sand Caves in Kanab, Utah

Yesterday we first went to the Moqui Cave near Kanab. The Moqui Cave was once used by Indians as a shelter or food store and in the 50ties it was turned in to a bar. Locals refer to Kanab as "Little Hollywood" due to its history as a filming location for many western movies and several famous actors has visited this bar frequently to cool down after filming, including John Wayne. The cave also features a museum with some fascinating archeological findings, including dinosaur footprints and fossils from some of the first living organisms - more than 500 million years old.

After that, we went on a hike to the Sand Caves that was also used as shelters for Native Americans. The hike included a small and easy climb up on the sandstone hills to get the caves - awesome experience!

In the afternoon we chilled out at a local cosy bar and restaurant near the hotel and later we went to the hotel pool and jacuzzi.
